Have you ever watched your daughter struggle to stand up for herself? I have.I’m Meytal, a psychologist, a part-time designer, and a mom of two young girls.I've always held strong beliefs about the role of women in society and firmly believe that women can achieve anything they set their minds to. When my first daughter was born, I started noticing how life, society, and the world around her didn’t always align with my beliefs.I found myself looking for ways to empower her.Whenever we read a fairy tale, I’d question the storyline: Why can't the princess save herself? What could she have done differently? Does she really need a prince to swoop in and “save” her??? Or did she give in just because she didn’t feel “strong enough”?Then one day, when my daughter was in 1st grade, we hosted a playdate with one of her classmates and his younger brother. As the kids ran around playing, I noticed my daughter standing helpless as the boys turned her room upside down. She didn’t feel comfortable telling them to stop.My heart sank. It troubled me that my daughter didn’t feel able to set boundaries.I saw my little girl, uncomfortable about saying no, not yet knowing her own power.Sadly, this isn’t unusual. Society teaches girls to be kind and accommodating - but what about being strong, assertive, and confident? As moms, we want our daughters to grow up knowing their worth, but the world around them doesn’t always send (or even like) this message. That moment inspired me to create my first wall art design: “MY CASTLE, MY RULES.”
When I showed it to my daughter, her eyes lit up, "I want to hang that in my room. Next time they make a mess, that’s what I’m going to tell them!!"The very next day we printed the poster and hung it on her wall.
She beamed. It wasn’t just another decoration - it was a message she could hold onto, a statement that truly resonated. That’s when I realized how transformative a simple, empowering message could be when it’s made visible and personal.Since then, I’ve expanded beyond wall art.
I’ve created tools like planners and guided activities, designed to give girls (and their parents!) the means to foster confidence, self-awareness, and emotional strength.
From morning routines that help girls set daily goals to evening reflections that celebrate their wins, these tools are practical and uplifting ways to nurture a strong sense of self.As a mother, I want my daughters to grow up with a strong sense of self from day one. I want them to hear and see empowering messages everywhere, reminding them they can be whoever and whatever they want to be. And if I can do it with a touch of humor and beautiful design, why not? 😉Now, I create printable art, planners, and other tools to fill girls’ lives with messages of strength, confidence, and possibility - daily reminders that they can be whoever they want to be.If these are the messages you want your daughter to grow up with, you’re in the right place. 😊---
